In our last blog, we discussed the age-old problem of being caught on the treadmill of life. For many of us, the answer to getting off this treadmill is to start a business. However, despite our best efforts, many of us still cannot seem to achieve the financial freedom that we crave.
But what is financial freedom?
It doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a millionaire. Instead, financial freedom means that you possess enough wealth to not rely on another person or from full-time employment.
When you have financial freedom, your wealth or assets provide you with an income without the need for you to work. Of these assets, a business will be one likely source of your income.
In practical terms, financial freedom is the polar opposite of life on the treadmill. It allows you to do what you want, work if and when you want to and enjoy the lifestyle you want.
Why are there not more people enjoying financial freedom?
Good question! The answer is straightforward.
The number of financially free people worldwide is minimal. Of these people, they have built their lives by design, rather than leaving it up to chance or following a pattern commonly accepted as the norm.
These people haven’t followed the herd; they have designed their lives, planned and followed out their plans. They have invested in themselves, and as their business expands, they have continued to build their wealth to ultimately enable financial freedom.
How do I achieve financial freedom?
Achieving financial freedom is doable; you have to know-how. If you’re looking to get off the dreaded treadmill and take the first steps towards achieving financial independence, these steps will help you get started.
The first thing you need to do is make a conscious decision to take control and start building your life by “design”.
Next, you need to unlearn your attitude towards money and learn to understand how you can make money work for you (not the other way round). You will also need to ascertain how you are going to do this.
Sit down and spend some dedicated time designing your life. To achieve financial freedom, you will need a business and life strategy that places figures on the essential elements, including your income and assets.
With your plan all figured out; you will need to get help and support from the right people. You won’t achieve this on your own, so to make your strategy a reality, it pays to invest in some first-class business advice.
